Living in different neighbourhoods of Hope (downtown vs lakeside vs out of town): what areas suit what kind of lifestyle
I’ve been looking at moving to Hope soon, but I can’t decide which area would fit best. Downtown seems super convenient — shops, cafes, and services are all close by — but I also love peace and nature. I drove past Kawkawa Lake and thought it looked like a dream spot, though maybe it’s pricier? For anyone living there already, how different do these areas really feel day to day?

I’ve lived near Kawkawa Lake for about three years, and honestly, it’s the best of both worlds for me. Quiet mornings, a quick swim after work, and still only 5–10 minutes to downtown. If you want to explore what each area offers, check out local businesses in Hope, BC — you’ll get a good sense of how the community is spread out. Downtown’s livelier, but lakeside feels more relaxed and family-friendly.
